Running to make a difference

Sixth Form Charity

We’re very proud of inspirational Upper Sixth students Chloe Rogers, Tabitha Frame, Asha Kirkpatrick and Sonia Erwig who ran the Big Half Marathon in London on Sunday 7th September.

The students ran the half marathon in aid of two brilliant charities, Smile Train and The AHOY Centre and have raised an incredible £2,000 combined for both charities. Smile Train provides life-changing cleft surgery and care for children around the world, while The AHOY Centre offers opportunities for young people through sailing and water-based activities.

The group reflected: “It was an incredible experience to take part in such a big event, and we’re really grateful for all the support in helping to meet our fundraising target and make a difference to young people’s lives.

“We were originally inspired to take part in the half marathon after watching the London marathon in April. Having never participated in a running event before, training for the event helped us to step out of our comfort zone for a good cause and prove that if we worked hard enough and trained consistently, we could cross the finish line.”

Well done to Chloe, Tabitha, Asha and Sonia on this amazing achievement.
