Additional Costs and Fees
We try to keep extra costs to a minimum. The following are the additional mandatory costs:
- A non-refundable registration fee of £150.
- A one off £500 acceptance fee: refundable when your daughter leaves the school.
- PTA and the Alumnae Association £150 lifetime membership.
- Purchase of school iPad £350 approx: This is a compulsory part of your daughter’s digital toolbox.
- Public Examination fees: in Year 11 for GCSEs and in Upper Sixth for the IB Diploma or A Level examinations; these are charged in the term your daughter takes the examinations. You are only charged for the subjects where she is entered for an external examination. Costs vary depending on subject choices, but for guidance the 2026 costs are as follows:
- IGCSE/GCSE: £45 - £135 per subject
- A Level: £75 - £245 per subject
- IB Diploma: £74 per subject plus core costs
- School Uniform, between £350-450: If all purchased new, but we encourage our families to make use of our pre-loved shop, better for the environment and the purse strings.
- School Lunches for 2026-27 will be £5.85 per day. Our seasonal, nutritious food is all prepared in-house but you may opt out of school lunches with half a terms notice.
Frequently Asked Questions on Fees and Costs
Yes, they are inclusive of the 10% VAT that we have passed on to parents. We are very cognisant of parental affordability and committed to sharing the impact of VAT with parents. We have passed on 10% and the remaining impact will be taken by the school.
We are very cognisant of parental affordability and always aim to offer value, however our fees do go up yearly, aligned to increased costs (related to salaries, inflationary pressures and changing in operating environments). We try to keep any increase as low as possible without compromising on the quality of education we are providing.
Annual fee increases are announced towards the end of March; this allows families time to make decisions and provide notice for the following year if that is an unfortunate necessity.

We have a number of bus partners who provide school transport; parents pay for the buses directly and should talk to their preferred bus route to find out more about costs.
Yes you pay for most trips, however we try to keep the costs to a minimum. Most trips are optional and it is not an expectation that students attend all trips. Residential trips will range from a few hundred pounds for a UK based fieldwork trip to over £1,000 for a ski trip. There are some curriculum trips that are part of course work for external examinations where we would strongly encourage all students to attend. Trips can be paid for in instalments.
Students in receipt of a Bursary Award are provided with financial support with some trips.
No this is inclusive in the fees, after school care is available from 4.00pm to 7.00pm daily.
Students may arrive at school from 7.30am in the morning and go to breakfast club; they will need to buy breakfast items but there is no cost for the care.
There are nearly 100 clubs and societies running across the school, most of which do not incur costs, so there is something for everyone.
There are costs associated with some co-curricular activities which involve one to one tutoring by specific specialist teachers or are linked to external qualifications, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme. A full list of current fees can be found here.
Fees are collected on behalf of the school by our parent charity the Harpur Trust before the start of the preceding term. You can choose to pay termly, in 9 month instalments or in advance in one payment. The Fees team at the Harpur Trust can provide a breakdown of costs for you. For more information please visit the Harpur Trust website.
We offer a limited number of means-tested academic bursaries from Year 7. They are offered annually and are highly competitive. Please find more information here or talk to our Admissions team who are happy to explain the process in more depth.
