Start date: September 2025 

Term time plus 1 week in the school holidays, 20 hours per week. 

£23,896.08 per annum full time equivalent, actual salary £10,209.24 per annum.

About the Role: 

Are you passionate about literacy, technology, and supporting young learners? Bedford Girls’ School is seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Learning Resources Centre (LRC) Technician to join our team and help provide an engaging and inspiring library service across both our Junior and Senior Schools. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll support the day-to-day running of our LRC, assist with innovative Virtual Reality (VR) classroom sessions, and help foster a lifelong love of reading in our students. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the LRC Manager in delivering a high-quality library service aligned with the school’s vision. 
  • Staff the Senior School Library reception desk, managing book loans, returns, and enquiries. 
  • Provide technical support during curriculum-linked VR sessions. 
  • Assist with the processing of new library resources, including cataloguing and book preparation. 
  • Shelve books and maintain tidy, well-organised library spaces. 
  • Run lunchtime library sessions in the Junior School. 
  • Promote reading through themed events, book fairs, competitions, and author visits. 
  • Carry out routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, stock repairs, and general admin.
