Following her impressive victory at the Golden Girls Box Cup in Borås, Sweden, in February, National Champion Rekha Kambli (Lower Sixth) has been selected for England Boxing’s Development Pathway after a rigorous selection process held on Saturday 25th April in Tamworth.

Rekha reflected: “There were around seven girls and about ten boys, and we sparred without any coaching while around 20 coaches observed and assessed us, noting everything we did. It was an intense process.

“I received the confirmation email the following Tuesday during the Sixth Form Wellbeing Festival, letting me know I had been selected for the England Development Pathway. I will be attending training camps at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) throughout the year, and I am also preparing to compete in the Haringey Box Cup and Ringside Box Cup this summer.”
