It was a proud moment for BGS as Upper Sixth students Emmanuelle Devile and Lucy Nissen completed their Grade 8 RAD Ballet examination on Monday, marking their final dance exam at the school. Mrs D’Arcy and I are incredibly proud of their dedication and their ability to sustain such a high standard of ballet alongside the demands of their A Level studies.

With a strong emphasis on performance, reaching Grade 8 is a significant achievement in itself. Both Lucy and Emmanuelle left the examination with beaming smiles, and a slightly premature congratulations certainly feels in order.

Lucy and Emmanuelle began their Classical Ballet training with Mrs D’Arcy when they joined BGS in Year 5, and it has been a pleasure to watch their talent grow and flourish through our biennial dance productions, A Step Beyond and Let’s Dance.
