This year's UCAS morning on Friday 26th June was perhaps the warmest on record, but the hot weather didn't stop our Lower Sixth students making excellent progress in planning next steps for life after BGS.
Sessions included a focus on the UCAS process and deadlines, an explanation of each section on their application, tips for effective completion, and a detailed look at how to write their personal statement.
In addition, students received practical advice on choosing courses wisely, applying strategically and managing timeframes. Students then made a flying start to their university applications, getting ahead with some of the admin so that they can now focus on personal statement writing and their final course shortlist over the summer and into the Autumn term.
Despite the heat, all the students were engaged and attentive, ensuring they are now well informed and prepared to apply to university, having gained insights that are also transferrable to degree apprenticeship and workplace applications. With all their hard work and preparation, our Lower Sixth are positioning themselves for successful outcomes: we are all looking forward to seeing the exciting range of directions the year group will take over the coming months.
