Our Lower Sixth Form students recently celebrated the culmination of this year's Ivy House Award by attending the final event, Pitch Fest, hosted at Bedford School on Monday.
Throughout the Ivy House Award, students have developed a wide range of employability and leadership skills, including communication, networking, collaboration, resilience and self-awareness. The programme encourages students to reflect on their strengths, build meaningful professional connections and develop the confidence needed for future university and career opportunities.
At Pitch Fest, students put these skills into practice by delivering a personal pitch to a range of professionals. Each student introduced themselves, shared an interesting fact, discussed their future aspirations and explained their personal “Ask”, whether seeking advice, opportunities or guidance for their next steps. The event provided an invaluable opportunity to engage in professional conversations, receive constructive feedback and expand their networks.
Our students represented Bedford Girls' School exceptionally well, demonstrating confidence, professionalism and maturity throughout the evening. It was wonderful to see how much they have grown over the course of the programme, and we are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and commitment they have shown in completing the Ivy House Award.
Holly Stuart (Lower Sixth) said: “It was a great opportunity to make connections with professional people.”
Nicole Lapis added: “It was a valuable experience, which I found very rewarding.”
