Junior School

By Mrs Inkson (Head of Year 6)

Year 6 are thrilled to announce the outstanding success of their IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition. This event signifies the culmination of their journey through Junior School and serves as a platform to showcase the breadth of their learning experiences.

The event gave the girls the opportunity to share the depth of their learning as they presented their comprehensive projects to family members and the broader school community. The groups explored a wide range of pressing global issues, reflecting their commitment to making a positive difference. Topics included Ocean Pollution, Fake News, Deforestation, Gender Equality, LGBTQ+ Rights, Animal Extinction, Disability Rights, Fast Fashion and Racism. Each girl enjoyed sharing her research findings and perspectives, articulating confidently the personal and global significance of these issues.

Visitors to the Exhibition had the chance to interact directly with each group, posing questions and delving into the nuances of their understanding. This interactive component not only showed the girls’ depth of knowledge but also their ability to discuss complex concepts with confidence and clarity.

A standout feature of the evening was the presentation of student-initiated actions derived from their projects. The girls went beyond academic exploration as they actively sought to address these critical issues. Initiatives ranged from teaching lessons on their issue to individual classes to launching school wide awareness campaigns and events.

The exhibition was a moment of immense pride for our school community, celebrating the girls’ dedication and their journey of inquiry, reflection and positive action. We are so proud of Year 6 and would like to extend our thanks to all our mentors and families who helped make this event such a success.
