Five of our Year 6 pupils delivered truly exceptional performances in this year’s Chiltern Cross Country League, a series of five challenging races held between October and February. This league is renowned for its tough terrain and unpredictable conditions, and this season was no exception! With weeks of heavy rain leading up to events, the courses were often muddy, slippery, and extremely demanding, testing both physical fitness and mental grit.

The final match, held on Saturday at Stopsley Park in Luton, was perhaps the toughest of all. Battling rain, wind, cold temperatures, and waterlogged ground, the girls showed remarkable determination and resilience throughout the race, finishing with smiles all round!

We are particularly proud to celebrate two outstanding individual achievements this season:

  • Immy, who finished 1st overall in the U11 Girls League, an incredible accomplishment reflecting her consistency, strength, and competitive spirit.
  • Lily, who secured 3rd place overall, demonstrating superb endurance and commitment across all five races.

These achievements speak volumes about the effort and dedication each girl has put into training. All five competitors are members of the Junior School Triathlon Club, and their experience running in such challenging winter conditions will stand them in excellent stead as they move into the upcoming triathlon season.

We are immensely proud of each and every one of them, not only for their impressive results, but for the character, sportsmanship, and resilience they displayed throughout the league.
