WonderGirls Club started a new creative journey on Monday where we will be learning a range of basic stitching techniques and exploring how these simple skills are used in the real world. From running stitch to whip stitch, the sessions will introduce the girls to the foundations of sewing through practical, hands-on activities designed to build patience, precision and creativity.
As well as developing fine motor skills and resilience, the girls explored how stitching is used in fashion, repair, textiles, outdoor equipment and even medical settings. The sessions sparked fantastic conversations around sustainability, craftsmanship and the importance of learning practical life skills.
There was a real sense of pride as the girls mastered the running stitch this week, supporting one another, and began to see how a simple stitch can be transformed into something purposeful, creative and meaningful.
