Our Junior School enjoyed a hot, vibrant and memorable Sports Day on Monday, that brought both sunshine and a fantastic atmosphere to the event.
The day featured a wide range of exciting events, including Long jump, Ball throw, 60m and 75m sprints, Egg and spoon, and Relay races. Each event provided opportunities for our girls to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and celebrate personal achievements.
Despite the high temperatures, spirits remained high thanks to the wonderful support of The Association (PTA), who ensured everyone stayed cool by providing refreshing ice lollies, a much-appreciated treat for both pupils and staff alike.
A standout moment of the day came in the Year 6 long jump, where Imogen Murphy delivered an outstanding performance, breaking the long-standing school record of 3.61 metres previously set by Eleanor Bruce in 2013. Imogen achieved an incredible jump of 4.05 metres, securing her place in the school’s sporting history. Earlier in the same event, Elysia Campbell had also amazed by surpassing the previous record with a superb jump of 3.75 metres, making it a truly remarkable competition.
Creativity was also celebrated at Sports Day, with the winners of the Annual Programme Design Competition. Congratulations go to Shreya Ladher (6BC) and Ottillie Walsh (4CS), who produced beautiful and engaging designs that perfectly captured the spirit of Sports Day.
House competition was fierce across all year groups, with the following winners:
- Year 3: Austen
- Year 4: Nightingale
- Year 5: Parks
- Year 6: Nightingale
Overall, the Junior School Sports Day 2026 champions were Nightingale House, who demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the competition.
Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly. Well done to every pupil who took part; your energy and team spirit made it a great day for everyone.
