Junior School Swimming

By Miss Gray (Head of Years 10 and 11)

Our Year 5 and 6 swimming team recently travelled to Sheffield last Saturday to compete at the ESSA National Primary Team Championships held at the iconic Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

Competing against 26 schools from across the country, the girls swam exceptionally well throughout the day, demonstrating determination, resilience, and fantastic team spirit. The team performed superbly throughout the competition, with every swimmer making a valuable contribution to the overall success. Every swimmer represented the school with pride and showed great maturity in a highly competitive environment.

The team achieved outstanding results, finishing 3rd and 5th in the B Finals, a fantastic achievement at a national competition. These results reflect the hard work, commitment, and dedication the girls have shown in training throughout the year.

What was most pleasing to see was the way the team supported one another throughout the competition. Their encouragement, sportsmanship and positive attitude were evident both in and out of the pool, making them excellent ambassadors for the school.

We are incredibly proud of all the swimmers and congratulate them on a wonderful achievement.
