Our junior athletes enjoyed a fantastic day at the East Prep Athletics Championships on Tuesday, with strong performances across both track and field.
A team of girls from Years 4 and 5 represented the school brilliantly, showing great determination and supporting one another throughout the day. Maisey M (Year 4) was a standout, winning gold in the Under-10 Girls’ 75m sprint to be crowned East Champion. She also impressed in the Long Jump, taking silver to round off an excellent performance.
In the field events, Shanaya B (Year 5) secured a well-earned bronze medal in the Cricket Ball Throw, adding to the team’s success. There were also several encouraging performances on the track, with a number of girls just missing out on finals in closely contested heats.
Congratulations to all who took part: Abigail B (Year 5), Shanaya B (Year 5), Clara B (Year 4), Phoebe D (Year 4), Kaelyn K (Year 5), Olivia M (Year 5), Issie M (Year 4), Maisey M (Year 4) and Lucy S (Year 4).
It was a great day of athletics, and we are very proud of the effort, resilience and team spirit shown by all the girls. A special well done to Maisey and Shanaya on their medal-winning achievements.
