This week, we marked Mental Health Awareness Week with the theme of Taking Action. Throughout the week, pupils across the Junior School explored how small positive actions can support both physical and mental wellbeing through a range of thoughtful discussions and activities focused on self-care, kindness, connection, and healthy habits.
Year 5 took part in a reflective activity called “My Wellbeing Toolkit”. Pupils created personalised toolkits filled with strategies to support their wellbeing in everyday life. They explored four important areas: Body (sleep, movement, healthy routines, and hygiene), Mind (rest, calm time, mindfulness, and talking about worries), Support (trusted adults, friends, and family members), and Environment (safe, peaceful, and comforting spaces). The girls showed great maturity and self-awareness as they reflected on the different ways they can care for themselves and support others.
Our Yoga Club has also continued to provide a calm and nurturing space for pupils to pause, breathe, stretch, and focus on emotional wellbeing through mindful movement, breathing exercises, and relaxation activities.
On Thursday, pupils and staff wore green accessories to help raise awareness and show support for Mental Health Awareness Week. At lunchtime, girls also took part in a wellbeing activity focused on “filling your cup” with positive and happy things that bring them joy, comfort, and calm, encouraging gratitude and positive reflection.
It has been wonderful to see so many thoughtful conversations, positive actions, and moments of kindness taking place across the school throughout the week.
