On Wednesday 4th March, twelve athletes from Years 6-8 travelled to Rowney Warren in Chicksands to compete in the Schools Cross-Country Relays. Set on the testing woodland course at Rowney Warren, the event provided a fantastic afternoon of competitive racing and team spirit.
Each relay leg was over one kilometre, with runners giving their all before handing over to the next teammate. The course was challenging in places, but every girl showed determination, resilience and excellent racing skills.
In the Year 6 event, one of our teams, comprising Imogen M, Elysia C Lily C-W were victorious. For the 3rd year in a row - a remarkable achievement, with Imogen achieving the fastest time out of all the runners in every school. Our 2nd team featuring Charlotte M, Eleanor B, Aylah L also ran superbly, securing an impressive third place and making it a double success for the year group. Show extreme strength across out year 6 runners.
In the Year 7 & 8 race, both teams competed strongly against tough opposition. Evelyn H, Roisin M, Roisin C finished in 5th place, while Nancy R, Harriet W, Gabi C came 8th, with all runners showing great commitment and encouragement for one another throughout.
It was an amazing event, full of energy and excitement, and the girls absolutely loved the experience. We are incredibly proud of their effort, teamwork and positive attitude, a brilliant afternoon of cross-country running!
