Senior School Equestrian

The Bank Holiday weekend saw equestrian rider Larissa Brown (Year 10) travel to the prestigious All England Showground at Hickstead, near Brighton, for the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) inter-county show jumping finals.

Representing BGS, Larissa competed in the 90/95cm and 1m/1.05m championships on her horse Gigi (official name Kiss Me HdH). Against some of the strongest competition in the country, they achieved an impressive 11th and 12th place nationally. They finished in the top 15 in all their classes, producing four out of six clear rounds. .

Young riders from across the country came together to compete in junior, senior and Pony Club team and individual events. This marks the first time BGS has had a horse competing at this level in the championships, making the achievement even more special.

Larissa’s sister, Evelyn (Year 7), has also been competing for BGS in NSEA events. Despite missing out on placings on her horse Belle, Evelyn gave it her all and delivered some excellent performances.

We are proud of both students for their commitment and composure, and for representing BGS with such spirit.
