Huge congratulations to Year 11 students Lucy Heneback and Jessie Grant, who have achieved incredible success during their GCSE examinations.
Competing at the prestigious Legacy Live Your Legend competition, Lucy and Jessie were recently crowned National Champions in the Senior Level 3 Allstars Cheerleading Competition, finishing 1st out of 6 teams with a stunning performance and first-class athleticism.
Jessie reflected: “I have been doing Gymnastics since I was very little and in these recent years have decided to switch to all-star cheerleading. After spending some time at another gym, I chose to join first class athletics to pursue my passion for cheerleading. I am so pleased to say this weekend at Legacy Internationals we won the title of National champions, I’m incredibly proud of our team and our coaches. Going from sixth place at BCA to 1st at legacy in just two weeks is an incredible achievement. I’m so excited for next season and first class and the opportunities and experiences it will bring.”
Lucy added: “I competed in my second competition with my cheerleading team, Gliders at First Class Athletics. After placing 6th out of 9 teams at our first competition, we took a bit of a confidence knock, but we persevered and came out on top, placing 1st and becoming national champions. I’m so pleased with how we’ve overcome that setback, and it shows that even when times are tough, there’s always another side. I’m incredibly proud of how hard we’ve worked over the past couple of months, and it’s really helped grow my confidence. The effort we’ve put in has paid off, and I’m so proud of the whole team. Scoring 96.4 out of 100 was just incredible, and I’m really excited for the new season and hoping for similar results.”
We are incredibly proud of both girls and look forward to following their future successes. Congratulations, Lucy and Jessie!
