BGS is celebrating an outstanding set of results in this year’s UKMT Junior Mathematics Challenge, with students across Years 6, 7 and 8 achieving exceptional results.
With many of the students taking part in this national competition for the very first time, our students were awarded an impressive 42 Bronze Certificates, nine Silver Certificates and three Gold Certificates.
A special congratulations to our three Gold Award recipients, Ella-May, Abhinaya and Leah , who earned invitations to the follow-on Junior Kangaroo competition. This is a significant accomplishment in itself, but the trio went on to surpass expectations, each securing a Silver Kangaroo Award and delivering the school’s strongest Junior Kangaroo performance for many years. Notably, this was the first time all three pupils had competed in the Junior Kangaroo. Ella-May was also named ‘Best in School’.
We are very proud of all the students who took part, whether it was their first experience of the competition or they were building on previous success. Their willingness to take on a challenge and engage with demanding mathematical problems has been fantastic to see.
Congratulations to everyone involved on an excellent set of results. We look forward to seeing how these talented mathematicians continue to develop in future competitions.
