By Mrs Whomsley (Eco Coordinator)
Miss Coote (Junior School teacher) and I were delighted to welcome our Eco Club back for the Spring term this week, with a mix of enthusiastic new Eco Reps and committed familiar faces returning from last term.
The girls met to reflect on what it means to be an Eco champion within the school and we worked together to create thoughtful eco pledges, setting a positive and purposeful tone for the term ahead. It was fantastic to see their passion, ideas and commitment to taking action for our school environment.
Eco Club’s aim is to empower the girls to take meaningful action to promote sustainability across the school and to encourage others to reflect on how small changes can make a big difference. We have many plans for this term, including the RSPB Birdwatch, learning about waste and recycling, Fairtrade, Earth Hour, and finding creative ways to share our eco messages with the wider school community. We’re really looking forward to seeing the impact of the girls’ ideas and actions over the coming weeks.
