By Miss Alarcon (Year 4 Teacher)
Year 4 were delighted to welcome nutritionist Louisa Bream for a fascinating talk on Diets in Different Countries. Louisa, who works with the NHS and is the daughter of our very own dance teacher, Ms Bream, brought an exciting and colourful array of food items for the girls to explore.
During the session, the girls learned how diets can vary greatly from country to country, depending on culture, geography, and local ingredients. They were fascinated to see and touch food items that are not usually found in the typical British diet. This hands-on experience helped them understand that what people eat around the world can be very different, yet every culture’s food tells an important story about lifestyle, tradition, and health.
The room was filled with curiosity and enthusiasm as the girls compared these global diets to their own. Many shared their thoughts eagerly and asked thoughtful questions about how to make healthy choices.
It was truly inspiring to see the girls engage so passionately with the topic and to learn from someone who brings both professional expertise and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity in food.
