From Friday 19th to Sunday 21st September, our Years 7 and 8 netballers enjoyed an exciting tournament at Condover Hall in Shropshire, combining competitive matches with team-building activities in beautiful surroundings.
On arrival, students could take part in outdoor activities including high ropes, abseiling, the zip wire and climbing. The high ropes in particular were very high and gave the students a real sense of challenge.
The following day, the U13A and B teams played some netball before the morning was interrupted by heavy rain. After lunch, they took part in a friendly triangular tournament against North London Collegiate School and Putney High School’s A and B teams.
On Sunday, both teams competed in the cup competition. Our U13As topped Pool A with three convincing wins, while the U13Bs finished second in the same pool, only losing to our A team. The U13Bs went on to face St Helen’s School U13As for third place and secured a 13-12 victory to finish third overall.
The U13As reached the cup final against Headington Rye Oxford U13As. In a closely contested match, our team emerged victorious and were crowned U13 cup champions.
The players were also thrilled to have their medals and cup presented by Surrey Storm player Peace Proscovia. She named Georgia C (8JFH) from the U13As and Lyla S (7SHS) from the U13Bs as players of the tournament for their teams.
It was a weekend full of fun, teamwork and fantastic netball.
