Sixth Form Charity

By Sonia Erwig (Service Captain)

On Tuesday 18th June, BGS and Bedford School came together for a fun-filled afternoon of rounders. It was the perfect way to kick off the summer and support a good cause.

Organised by the new Service Team, this was the first service event of the year and a fantastic opportunity for students from both schools to connect through sport. Two friendly mixed matches were played, with the girls’ team winning one and the boys’ team taking the other. It was a fitting result for a day focused on teamwork and togetherness.

The event was held in support of United World Schools (UWS), a charity that works to provide access to quality, inclusive education in some of the most hard-to-reach communities around the world. The rounders matches offered a great way to raise awareness while building bonds between the two schools.

Our teamwork and organisation helped set the tone for a strong year of service and this is hopefully the first of many collaborations to come. As the team.  Tara, Freya and I, are looking forward to working with all of the students at BGS on lots of service initiatives.
