Senior School

By Mrs Simms (Head of Business and Economics)

Our Year 8 students recently took part in the exciting Young Enterprise 10X Challenge, transforming just £10 into innovative business ideas as part of a house team project. Tasked with developing products for a junior school marketplace, students demonstrated impressive creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial flair from start to finish.

The marketplace was a vibrant showcase of their hard work, with a fantastic range of products on offer. From handmade snow globes, bracelets and scrunchies to plushies, fluffy flowers, squishies, sweets and key rings, each stall reflected the imagination and dedication of the teams. The event created a real buzz across the school, as younger pupils enjoyed browsing and purchasing the unique items on sale.

A key part of the project was the support provided by our Year 12 Business and Economics students, who acted as mentors throughout the process. They guided the Year 8 teams in developing their ideas, planning production and preparing for the marketplace. It was a proud moment for them to see their mentees bring their ideas to life so successfully.

The event was not only a celebration of entrepreneurship and creativity, but also a meaningful opportunity to give back, raising a significant amount for charity. It inspired students across year groups and highlighted the power of enterprise education in building confidence, collaboration and real-world skills.
