Year 4 and Year 5 pupils have been enthusiastically preparing for their upcoming musical production of Blondel, written by Mr Page (Director of Music). Set in the Middle Ages, the story explores life across Europe during the reign of King John and follows the adventures and challenges faced by the people of the time.
In lessons, the children have been working extremely hard to bring the production to life. They have begun learning the lively songs from the show and are developing confidence in performing them together as an ensemble. The pupils are particularly enjoying adding comedic choreography to the musical numbers, experimenting with movement and expression to make the scenes engaging and entertaining.
Alongside the music, the students are also beginning to explore the script and storyline through drama activities. They are developing their understanding of character, practising how to deliver lines clearly, and working collaboratively to shape the narrative of the performance.
It has been wonderful to see the pupils’ enthusiasm and creativity as they start to build the foundations of the show. With continued rehearsal, their singing, acting, and stage presence will continue to grow as we move closer to the final performance.
