On Wednesday 3rd December, our Year 11 and Upper Sixth students travelled to London for a festive and enjoyable day at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Ella Q (Year 11) said: “A trip to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park was the perfect get away from school and a chance to have some fun before our mocks. I really enjoyed soaking up the winter atmosphere with my friends. We explored the stalls, went on rides and enjoyed trying (and failing) to win the huge prizes. The Big Wheel was definitely my favourite because I loved admiring the sparkling lights as it got darker outside. This was a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit!”

Sophie W (Upper Sixth) reflected: “Winter Wonderland was a lovely day out and I enjoyed getting to spend the day on lots of rides with my friends. My favourite ride was the Wilde Maus which had an upgrade since we last went there in Year 11. It had an obstacle course to get into the ride and I almost fell into some water due to some wobbly logs. The highlight of my day must have been my lunch which was a whole Christmas dinner in a yorkshire pudding wrap! I appreciate all the teachers who helped to organise it as it’s lots of fun every year.

Amelia H (Upper Sixth) added: “I had such a fun time at Winter Wonderland. There were almost too many options of things to do, whether it was rides, food, prize games or shopping! However, my favourite was definitely either the Ice Mountain ride or the Wild Maus XXL ride, because it was funny to see the photos taken by the camera of all our crazed (and sometimes terrified) facial expressions on the ride. Overall, the trip was a brilliant way to destress from recent deadlines and worries about exams, whether you are in Year 11 or the Upper Sixth. I would really recommend it to anyone thinking about going, as it is planned really well by the teachers.”
