In support of Bedford School’s Movember campaign, our BGS U19 netball team hosted a charity fundraiser match on Thursday 27th November, Mo Bro vs Mo Sis!
Men’s mental health is a topic that often goes overlooked, but since 2003, the Movember charity has worked tirelessly to change that. Movember is the leading charity dedicated to men’s health, aiming to improve wellbeing and tackle prostate and testicular cancer. Collaborative events like this bring our school communities together in support of such an important cause.
The event was organised by BGS Sport Captain, Lucy Nissen, who said: “Men’s Mental health is an incredibly important topic but unfortunately it is something that is often overlooked. We play our annual BGS vs Bedford School Movember Netball match to raise awareness on this topic and bringing people together. Supporting the Boys School in their fundraising efforts signifies that as a school we care both about our staff and those outside of our school community.
“The Match had a great energy, with a large number of spectators from both schools. The boys were as committed and enthusiastic as ever, but in the end our girls took a 28-15 win. It was a great way to spread awareness and show support.”
