It has been another busy fortnight for BGS Hockey, with teams from Year 7 to Sixth Form representing the school across a number of fixtures against Mill Hill & Belmont, Spratton
Hall, Stephen Perse Cambridge & Dame Bradbury’s, and The Perse School. Across all age groups, our players demonstrated great skill, teamwork and determination.
The 1st XI produced a strong display against The Perse Girls, earning a 1–1 draw that showcased composure and attacking play, followed by a confident 2–0 win for the U18B team. Before half term, a depleted 1st XI side battled hard in a 0–2 loss to Mill Hill & Belmont, while the U16s secured a well-earned 0–0 draw in the same fixture.
The U14A team recorded an excellent 3–2 victory over Mill Hill & Belmont, and both the U14B and U14C sides earned competitive draws, reflecting the growing depth in the squad. The U13s enjoyed a busy schedule, with the U13A and U13B teams securing close wins and the U13C and U13D sides showing encouraging progress and commitment across their matches. The U12s also impressed, highlighted by a 5–0 win for the U12C team and a spirited performance from the U12A side in their narrow 1–2 loss to The Perse.
Across the programme, BGS players continue to represent the school with enthusiasm, progress and sportsmanship. Coaches and staff were delighted with the effort shown, and the teams now look ahead to the final fixtures of term, including matches against Stamford and Bishop’s Stortford and East Regional tournaments for several age groups.
