Traitors: The New Season

A lot of Traitors fans have been excited this week by the return of a new series... No - not just that one! Here at BGS we have had the privilege to run our own second season of the Psychology Traitors, with willing recruits from Years 8-10. Owing to the large number of students who signed up, we had to use a Psychology-approved stratified sampling method to select the students who were able to take part in this even more ambitious event - where we ran two games simultaneously in the school dining room.

A slightly late start meant we had to run 5 cycles of banishments and murders rather than six - but we still managed to squeeze in all the missions - at which the players proved highly adept, building up large pots of gold by the end of the game. The Faithfuls came out on top, with Game One having banished all their Traitors before they even reached the Endgame!

Our two Lower Sixth helpers, Rebecca Lock and Eva McLachlan, proved to be excellent minions, keeping the missions on track and documenting the evening splendidly. The Year 8-10 students are to be commended not only for their excellent collaboration across the year groups but also for the exemplary behaviour they exhibited throughout the evening.

The missions and round table discussions were some of the most popular parts of the game, although some players did particularly enjoy the delivery of the 'murder' letters from the Traitors. Students and staff had an excellent time:  Aqualina (Year 9) found the Chatbots created for the evening (used to distract Faithfuls whilst the Traitors discussed the next murder in a secret 'Traitors' Tower' document) informative and funny. Ella (Year 10) reported that the evening was ‘big fun’ and helped her to interact with other people, saying 'I really enjoyed all the activities, the drama and everything overall!' and Winnie  (Year 9) said that 'It was amazing! I had so much fun - I loved how similar it was to the TV show!', which Saskia (Year 8) echoed in her feedback that the game was an 'Amazing experience, it felt like I was in the real thing.' Robyn (Year 8) added 'Traitors was really fun and I'm glad we get to participate in things like this throughout the school.'

With such glowing feedback students need to watch this space for the new seasons that will run in Autumn 2027.
