Last week, the Spanish Department took Year 8 students to the VR room to enrich their learning about Spanish geography and descriptive vocabulary. This immersive experience allowed them to virtually explore and compare Madrid, Spain’s bustling capital city, with Tabarca, a small and peaceful island near Alicante.
During the session, students practised contrasting vocabulary in Spanish to describe each location and discussed their personal preference about where they would like to live.
This VR experience not only broadened students’ cultural understanding of Spain but also strengthened their confidence in using descriptive language. The combination of technology and language learning made the lesson engaging and highly interactive.
