This week our Year 11 and Upper Sixth Fine Artists, and Upper Sixth IB Visual Art students had the exciting opportunity to visit the Tate Modern in London. The trip provided a chance for pupils to experience world-class artworks first-hand and explore a wide range of contemporary and modern artists.
Our Upper Sixth IB students were particularly focused on finding inspiration for their comparative studies, whilst Year 11 and Upper Sixth Fine Artists took time to reflect on works that connected with their personal themes, as well as observing varying professional practices, sparking new ideas as they continue to develop their own creative approaches.
The Tate Modern’s diverse collection gave students the opportunity to engage with both established masters and experimental contemporary pieces, enriching their understanding of Fine Art and broadening their artistic perspectives.
The visit was both inspiring and thought-provoking, and we look forward to seeing how the students translate their experiences into their upcoming projects.
