Senior School Trips and Excursions

By Miss Sadler (Science Teacher)

In August, 39 eager Year 7 students set off on an action-packed watersports and activity trip to Wareham, Dorset.

The majority of the time was lovely warm weather where sun cream, plenty of water, and time spent cooling off in the river quickly became essentials. This created the perfect atmosphere for a brilliant week, during which every student threw themselves wholeheartedly into activities ranging from paddleboarding and tomahawk throwing to abseiling.

Midweek, the group visited a water park and tackled a mud run, an absolute highlight, especially as some staff joined in, much to the students’ delight. The final day was spent at Rockley Point, where students enjoyed a full day of sailing. They had the chance to take control of picos (two-person boats) as well as experience the thrill of sailing larger eight-person boats.

The students absorbed all the instructions and showcased some impressive sailing skills, alongside a few entertaining capsizes. Many were keen to head back out on the water, rounding off what was truly an unforgettable week.
