During April and May, our swimmers competed in the Regional Championships in both the East and South East Regions. These championships are held in 50m pools, so the racing differs from the 25m format our swimmers usually compete in.

Florrie Richbell (Year 6), an S12 visually impaired swimmer for Flitwick Dolphins Swimming Club, raced in five events, achieved four personal bests, and won three medals: bronze in the 100m backstroke and 200m Individual Medley (IM), and silver in the 100m breaststroke.

Eva Jackson (Year 8), also racing for Flitwick Dolphins Swimming Club, was entered in 11 events and made the 13-year-old finals for the 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly, and the 50m and 100m freestyle. Eva achieved a personal best in both the heat and final of the 50m butterfly and repeated this in the 50m freestyle final to claim a silver medal. She also placed 5th in the 400m freestyle and 7th in the 400m IM, swimming a total of nine personal bests across her events and showing her versatility across strokes and distances.

Megan Barnicoat (Year 9) raced in six events for City of Peterborough Swimming Club. She placed 7th in the 1500m freestyle, then claimed gold in the 14-year-old 200m butterfly with a personal best time.

Holly Katasi (Year 10) raced in five events representing City of Milton Keynes Swimming Club and achieved new personal bests in the 50m and 200m backstroke.

Well done to all our swimmers for their dedication and strong performances across the championships.
