Senior School Geography

By Mrs Swan (Head of Geography)

Since the start of the summer term, Year 9 students have been working on designing sustainable solutions to improve the food production system – from farm to fork – as part of their geography unit on resource management.

Their challenge was to come up with an idea, design, product or app to make any part of the system more sustainable.

On Friday 16th May, the students pitched their ideas to a panel of judges made up of parents, student leaders, and representatives from local businesses.

Each group had 10 minutes to impress the judges, who scored the pitches based on the quality of the presentation, how sustainable and realistic the idea was, and the marketing of the product, including its branding and logo.

The judges were incredibly impressed with the creativity and effort on display, and it was clear that Year 9 really rose to the challenge. Well done to everyone involved!
