We are very proud of Ruby Buckingham (Year 5), who, alongside her gymnastics partner Mia, won a bronze medal at the Inter-Regional ACRO Gymnastics Championships 2025, held in Southampton last weekend.

After placing second at the Regional ACRO Finals in March, Ruby and Mia, who compete in Grade 1 Women’s Pairs, secured their place at this prestigious event, which brought together teams from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Simply qualifying was a fantastic achievement, and coming home with a medal made it all the more special.

In Women’s Pair Acro gymnastics, each pair performs routines that test their strength, flexibility, coordination and timing. Ruby and Mia have worked brilliantly together, and their result reflects the effort and focus they’ve put in over recent months.

Ruby joined the ACRO Squad at Salto Gymnastics last year, following a successful trial in December 2023, making this achievement even more impressive.

Ruby said: “It was such a big thing for us to get to the inter-regionals. Competing against the whole country felt amazing, and getting a medal made it even better. Our score at the competition was actually the highest we’ve achieved all year, so we were so happy.”

We are delighted to share Ruby’s success and proud to see her dedication rewarded at this national level.
