A huge congratulations to our Head of Netball and AO Manchester Thunder star, Miss Huckle, on Thunder’s fifth Netball Super League title, secured in a thrilling 54–51 final against London Pulse on Sunday.

In front of more than 8,000 fans at Co-op Live in Manchester, Thunder produced a nail-biting finish to clinch the win. Playing at Goal Keeper/Goal Defence, Miss Huckle has been instrumental this season, bringing experience, leadership and a commanding presence on and off the court.

Miss Huckle is a five-time Netball Super League champion and has also represented England at senior level, making her success an inspiring example for our students of what focus and perseverance can achieve.

Miss Huckle reflected: “To win a fifth title is an achievement I am incredibly proud of, and I am one of only a few athletes in the Superleague to have done this. To do it in my 15th year in the Superleague, whilst also playing in my 200th game in the first game of the season makes 2026 a very special year. I am very lucky to work with such a supportive PE department who allow me to continue to thrive.”

We’re really proud to have Miss Huckle at our school. Watching her play at that level and see Thunder win the title is inspiring for our students, showing them what focus and perseverance can achieve.
