During the Easter holidays, our Junior School girls enjoyed an action‑packed Triathlon Training Camp held at school. The camp provided a fantastic opportunity for our girls to develop their skills across all three disciplines, swim, bike and run, while having plenty of fun along the way.
Each morning began with a focused swimming session in the pool, working hard on improving technique, developing endurance and increasing speed.
After swimming, the girls moved onto bike skills sessions based on the school field. Our cyclists learned how gears work and practised using them effectively, as well as developing key skills such as cornering, mounting and dismounting, and running smoothly with their bikes through transition. Some girls were even able to master extremely impressive flying mounts and dismounts!
Running sessions focused on building endurance alongside bursts of speed, helping the girls prepare for a strong sprint finish.
On Friday, we held a full triathlon to give the girls experience of putting each discipline together as well as how to navigate the transition between them. Starting with a snake swim in the pool, girls then had to leave the pool area and run to the transition area on the field. This was followed by multiple technical bike loops, and finished with a long run. Great fun was had by all, and excellent progress was made throughout the week.
