In the last week of the Easter Holidays 35 students headed out to North Oxfordshire for a chance to improve expedition skills ready for the upcoming assessment in the Peak District.
We were fortunate to have mainly warm, sunny weather (with just a short spell of rain to reinforce the importance of having waterproofs with us!).
There were a total of six groups and it was really pleasing to see the participants engaged in a very positive manner, supporting and encouraging each other. They practiced and improved their navigation skills and walked routes designed to simulate the hilly landscape of the Peak District, made camp, cooked communal meals and planned their routes for the expeditions.
At the debrief, it was lovely to hear the girls reflect on their experiences and how they had enjoyed the expedition.
My thanks, as always, go to the staff members who freely give their time and expertise to make this all possible.
