As part of our shared commitment to encouraging open dialogue and understanding among young people, BGS and Bedford School continue to work together on a range of initiatives that provide students with a platform to collaborate, discuss, educate and take action on important social issues.
During our recent Citizenship Day on Friday 6th January, Sixth Form students from Bedford School and BGS joined forces to deliver an educational workshop for Year 9 girls focused on raising awareness about sexual harassment and respectful behaviour.
The session aimed to help younger students better understand what sexual harassment can look like, why it is harmful, and how they can respond or seek support if they ever feel uncomfortable. By encouraging open discussion and creating a safe space for questions, the workshop helped empower students with knowledge and confidence at an important stage of their development.
The collaboration between the two schools was particularly valuable, as it demonstrated how boys and girls can work together to address important social issues and promote a culture of respect and responsibility. Bringing together students from both schools not only strengthened the partnership between both schools but also reinforced the message that preventing harassment and promoting equality is a shared responsibility within the whole community.
