Our final block fixture before the majority of squads head to the National Schools Lacrosse (7th-10th March), and for the U12 A-D teams ahead of their County Tournament on Saturday 14th March, proved to be a morning full of resilience and impressive Lacrosse.
With relentless rain and biting cold sweeping across the pitches, both players and supporters had to dig deep. In shortened, tournament-style play against Haberdashers' Girls' School and North London Collegiate School, the girls demonstrated exceptional grit and determination. Quick turnarounds between matches, slippery conditions underfoot and numb hands-on sticks did not deter the quality of play. Instead, we saw impressive team combinations, intelligent decision-making and a clear commitment to cementing tactical structures in preparation for the upcoming tournaments.
We were incredibly proud not only of the players’ resilience in such testing conditions, but also of our hardy supporters who braved the rain and cold to cheer relentlessly from the sidelines. Their energy and encouragement created a fantastic atmosphere despite the grey skies.
A sincere thank you to our wonderful catering team for keeping everyone warm and well-fuelled with much-appreciated hot food, it was very well received! We are also extremely grateful to Mr Gracie, Deputy Head - Student Engagement and Welfare who stepped in to coach due to staff illness. It was fantastic to have you with us, thank you for your positivity, energy and valuable input from the sidelines.
We now look ahead with excitement and confidence, knowing that if we can perform with such resilience in those conditions, we are well prepared for the tournaments ahead.
