We are extremely proud of our Sixth Form students who gave outstanding performances in Bedford School’s sold out four-night run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This abridged school’s version of the multi award winning West End play was performed from Wednesday 26th November to Saturday 29th November.

In this collaborative production between the boys’ school and Goldington Academy, the entire cast, crew, designers and choreographers showcased exceptional talent at the Quarry Theatre as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

We are especially proud of the following BGS students: Imogen Blower (Lower Sixth), who played Ginny Potter; Ava Mead (Lower Sixth), who played Hermione Granger; Chloe Rogers (Upper Sixth), who played Delphi Diggory; and Minaal Ali, who was part of the Ensemble.

Ava Mead (Lower Sixth) reflected: “I was a part of the joint school production Les Misérables last year and I had the most amazing time. So, when the opportunity came to do another show with Bedford School, my enthusiasm was overwhelming, and I knew I had to do it. Collaborating with Bedford School is always amazing fun and working in such a professional and hard-working environment is a huge privilege. I feel so grateful that I was trusted with the role of Hermione Granger, she’s such an iconic and powerful character so I was immensely excited to play her. My highlight of the entire experience was getting to work in a cast filled with some of the most kind, talented, and supportive people I’ve ever met.”

Chloe Rogers (Upper Sixth said: “I played Delphi Diggory in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I decided to audition for this production because I really enjoy drama and I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. The thing I enjoyed the most about taking part in this collaborative production was that I got to meet and work with so many new people from both Bedford School and Goldington Academy, working with them was so fun and I enjoyed the whole entire process so much.”

Imogen Blower (Lower Sixth) commented: “I have been in a number of school productions over my years at BGS including the extraordinary musicals Les Mis, High School Musical and Peter Pan. Just when I thought none of those experiences could have been beaten this show came along. I was lucky enough to be cast in the role of Ginny Potter and was challenged with my first ever stage romance. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child exceeded my expectations not just because of the insanely creative and clever technical aspect of it but also because of the extremely supportive cast I was surrounded by throughout the whole process. Both Goldington Academy and Bedford Boys’ School were a pleasure to work with, and I have cemented friends for life. Taking part in these phenomenal productions with our fantastic cast and crew of Bedford School, BGS and Goldington Academy has driven my love of theatre and entertainment. The best advice I could give to any of my younger peers is to grasp these opportunities offered at the school because they are some of the best memories of my life.”
