By Ms Smith (Visiting Speech & Drama Coordinator)
The Speech and Drama Department are delighted to announce that following our recent LAMDA examinations session all the students, from Year 3 through to Lower Sixth, involved were awarded a Distinction. These results reflect the hard work put in by the students to prepare both their pieces and the theoretical knowledge required. A special mention to the three Year 3 students who all had a conversational aspect to their chosen examinations (a fantastic skill for them to have the opportunity to develop at such a young age).
Our Autumn Term examination session provides flexibility both for students that join Speech and Drama during the school year or for those who have additional commitments in the Summer Term.
This set of results is a great start for Miss Coulson (Visiting Speech and Drama Teacher), who joined the school in September, and whose careful support has ensured a smooth transition for students formerly taught by her predecessor.
Miss Coulson and I are looking forward to the Spring Term, when we will be holding our Speech and Drama concert for the first time on World Book Day (5th March) and continuing preparation for the Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama (7th to 14th March).
