We are excited to announce that the Years 7 and 8 production will be Matilda the Musical, with performances taking place on Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th July.

We feel Matilda’s BOLD spirit is just perfect for our BGS students, making this an exciting and empowering show to be part of. Auditions will take place on Wednesday 11th February from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, and interest has already been high, with more than 70 students applying.

When selecting musicals and performances for our students, we always look for characters and stories that spark imagination and encourage creative expression beyond the classroom. Roald Dahl’s Matilda stood out immediately for these year groups, offering a wide range of roles and opportunities both on stage and in ensemble performances.

From the formidable Agatha Trunchbull and the kind Miss Honey, to Mr Wormwood and the much-loved Bruce, there are many characters for our students to bring to life. The production also features well known musical numbers such as Revolting Children and The Chokey Chant, giving our singers and dancers plenty to enjoy.

We are very much looking forward to auditions and to beginning rehearsals as Matilda takes shape on the BGS stage. July may still feel some way off, but preparations are already well underway, and we are excited to see this production develop over the coming months.
