The community is busy with the final preparations for Saturday’s CultureFest, tomorrow, 2:00–4:00pm at BGS.

Rehearsals have been taking place and our students and staff have been making their final plans for their stalls and activities. Our Junior School Choir has a treat in store for our visitors with their beautiful performances, and we can’t wait to see students and staff representing diverse cultures walk in our Cultural Parade!

Our entrepreneurial students will be running stalls selling homemade jewellery, hand-painted shirts, baked goods, and crochet plushies, to name a few, whilst our younger students are teaming up with staff and older students to run games and activity stalls. Our Houses are hosting hands-on activities including fairground games, lantern making, a friendship bracelet workshop, and a face painting station.

As part of the festival, The Association (PTA) is organising a food demonstration tent. Enticing aromas will draw you inside to experience a variety of dishes being prepared and cooked in front of you. Mini kitchen stations will be set up, where parent and staff volunteers will talk you through each recipe as they prepare their chosen dish. Throughout the food demonstrations, our Chair of The Association, Mrs Sira, will have a chai station.

Cuisines will include dishes from Libyan, Mexican, Pakistani, and Lebanese cultures, with samples available to taste throughout the afternoon. Recipe cards will also be available to take home, should you wish to recreate any of the dishes yourself.

Our Greens Kitchen colleagues will be offering cream teas, and Ice-cream Joe will be on site with his delicious treats.

We would love it if you came in cultural dress to add colour to the afternoon. Both the Astro and the back car park will be open.

Finally, please remember to bring cash to purchase homemade items from our enterprising students who have been busy making gift items for you to buy.
