Junior School Sport

By Mrs Lombaard (PE Teacher)

This year's Junior School Sports Day was held on a bright and sunny Wednesday at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium, creating the perfect setting for a fun-filled day of sporting action and school spirit.

Pupils took part in a variety of exciting events including the long jump, ball throw, sprints, egg and spoon race, and the ever-popular relay. Each event showcased not only the children' s athletic skills but also their teamwork and enthusiasm. The girls, in particular, were fantastic, bringing great energy, determination, and sportsmanship to every competition.

Despite the heat, spirits remained high throughout the day. Thanks to the generous support of The Association (PTA), everyone was able to cool down with delicious ice lollies, which were a much-appreciated treat in the midday sun, as were the new BGS branded baseball caps that The Association were busy selling .

The competition was closely contested, with all the school Houses giving their very best. In the end, Parks emerged as the overall winners of the day, with Chanel finishing in a very close second place.

A special congratulations goes to the standout athletes of the day:

Sophie M (6H)
Amukta D (5BR)
Georgina S (4S)
Anna F (3T)

Well done to everyone who participated, helped and cheered on this year’s Sports Day was a tremendous success.
