Outgoing Head Girl, Nawaal Qazi reflects on her time of leadership: “Being Head Girl has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of my time in Sixth Form. I’ve truly valued every privilege, opportunity, and challenge that came with the role- it’s hard to believe that it’s coming to an end! Most importantly, the experience has allowed me to develop a range of skills that I know will prepare me well for the future; whether that’s communicating effectively within a team or mastering the art of sending emails.

“I wish Hatty all the very best in her new role. She already carries herself with confidence and conviction so I have no doubt that she will rise to the occasion. The best advice I can offer is to embrace feedback and learn from it but also to enjoy every moment, because it will go by far more quickly than you expect.”

Incoming Head Girl, Hatty Parry said: “Throughout my time at BGS, I have always felt inspired by the GLG, looking up to them as role models. I am honoured to now step into the role of Head Girl and to have the opportunity to inspire others, encouraging every student to feel confident in contributing to positive change and embracing the values of the school.

“All GLG captains and prefects have worked towards their roles with months of dedication across a range of departments, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a proactive and enthusiastic team. I am really looking forward to working alongside them in the year ahead, supporting and developing their ideas and initiatives!”

“Nawaal and the outgoing GLG have made a lasting impact on the school, and I feel both privileged and motivated to build on their legacy, along with that of all the head students before me. I take on the role of Head Girl with great pride, and I am truly excited for what the 2026-27 GLG can achieve!”

The formal changeover will take place after the Easter holidays with the incoming GLG assuming their roles at the start of the Summer Term.
