We have two exciting upcoming alumnae author talks taking place at BGS on Wednesday 19th November and Tuesday 2nd December 2025 at 7.00pm.

Wednesday 19th November 2025 - Alice McIlroy (previously Coubrough, DAHS 2006) will be talking about her debut novel, The Glass Woman, a psychological thriller and cautionary tale about a female scientist who trials a pioneering AI brain implant.

Tuesday 2nd December 2025 – Ruth Hogan (BHS 1979) will be discussing her sixth novel, the story revolves around George McGlory who has been struggling since the death of his beloved wife, Audrey. But when he witnesses a public health funeral - with no flowers and no mourners - he is inspired to create The Light a Candle Society.
Tickets are priced at £2 per person and will include light refreshments.
