Twice each term, our students are invited to vote for a culture they would like the Greens Team to showcase through a half termly Culture Menu Take Over. This time, students chose from South Korea, Brazil, Turkey, Japan and Jamaica. With an impressive 46% of the votes, Japan was the winning country.
The Greens Team put together a delicious Japanese menu to celebrate Japan’s food culture, which saw the return of a BGS firm favourite, chicken katsu curry. Alongside this were sweet potato katsu curry and soy glazed pork, which was so tender it fell apart as it was served.
The counters were filled with an array of colour and inviting aromas. Our dessert counters also gave students the opportunity to try Japanese fruits such as lychee and kaki.
I have shared our much-loved katsu curry recipe below so you can have a go at making it at home.
