Sally read French and German at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University. She started her professional life with Procter & Gamble, but soon realised business was not for her. She switched to journalism and worked briefly for The Times and Sunday Telegraph before heading to Bern, Switzerland to work for Swiss Radio International.

After that she bounced from ITV Westcountry as a Producer to ITV Central as a Reporter and then to ITV Thames Valley as their Political Correspondent, before ending up at ITV News 12 years ago. She is still a newshound, and is the early Good Morning Britain Presenter for ITV London and a Reporter for the ITV lunchtime national news.
