Innovation and Technology

We are delighted to have been recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ for our approach to Experiential Learning (Senior School) in the Muddy Stilettos Schools Awards. This follows our success in being named Most Inclusive School in 2024.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our whole school community. With over 500 schools entering across all categories, we are proud that our dynamic, hands-on curriculum has been acknowledged at a national level. It highlights the creativity and commitment of our staff, who continue to equip our students with skills for the future.

Our submission emphasised our strategic focus on innovation. We embrace immersive technology to transform learning from Year 3 through to Sixth Form. With a heritage of being at the forefront of technology in education, we have partnered with Apple through the Apple Distinguished Schools programme for more than a decade.

We continue to prioritise advanced digital literacy, ethical AI understanding and inclusive education tools. These remain key strands of the School’s Strategic Plan. In an increasingly tech-driven world, the integration of VR, AI, robotics and eSports within the curriculum supports our commitment to a digital education that prepares students for the future and promotes inclusivity.

Our ISI Report 2024 also praised our use of innovative technology, highlighting its impact on pupil engagement and inclusion. “Technology is effectively embedded throughout the curriculum and pupils are adept at using a range of tools to enhance their learning.”

Mrs Hudson-Findley (Director of Digital Learning, Enterprise & Sustainability) reflected on this achievement: “I’m incredibly proud that our school has been recognised with a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Muddy Stilettos Schools Awards for our work in digital innovation.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to preparing students for a fast-changing world by embedding forward-thinking technology into every aspect of school life – from VR lessons and AI-assisted learning to coding and robotics programmes from Year 3 onwards.

“It’s a testament to the brilliant work of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students, who embrace innovation not just as a tool, but as a mindset. This award reinforces our position as a school that doesn’t just keep pace with change – we lead it.”
