Junior School Science

By Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)

This year's STEM Week in the Junior School, running alongside British Science Week, was a whirlwind of excitement and learning. Managing Director of R A Gibson Farm, Rosie Reynolds, kicked off the week, sharing her journey from meteorology to farming, inspiring pupils with the real-world impact of weather on our lives.

Activities throughout the week ranged from investigating dinosaur extinction to exploring town planning and fertility research. Pupils engaged in hands-on projects like crafting sustainable farms and building pendulum timers, fostering problem-solving skills and creativity.

Alumnae Alice Young-Lee (BGS 2015), Coral High (BHS 2010) and Stella Hunt (née Habgood, BHS 1989) shared their diverse STEM journeys, enriching students' understanding of career possibilities. The week concluded with the planting of a time capsule, symbolising their STEM journey.

STEM Week has left a lasting impression, fostering curiosity and empowering students for the future. We remain committed to nurturing the spirit of inquiry and innovation in our students, preparing them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
